Whats the big deal with...
Saturday Night Live goes all the way back to 1975. It has been running and becoming more and more popular since.

This unique and clever tv show has featured 132 different people. Some of the stars are Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrel, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, and so many more.
Not only has it featured actors but musicians and guest hosts who have spread their fame from there.
Surprisingly it has generated 11 feature films. Two of those films have become cultural phenomena themselves: "Waynes World" and "Blues Brothers"!
Saturday Night Live have played many different episodes! from the classics to new creative ideas.
One of my favorite is "we need more cowbell"!
Decent post. I agree with you how influential Saturday Night Live was, especially in its heyday. So many great comedians and recognizable people got their first start on the show. SNL was the perfect proving ground for great comedians like Bill Murray and Chris Farley. While I do not think SNL is as popular as it was back in the day, there is no denying that the name still resonates with many people to this day.
ReplyDeleteHey Craig,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. SNL will always be a classic and will always be known for producing quality comedians. However, I feel that the show has definitely had its ups and downs... The years of Chris Farley, Dan Aykroyd and Will Ferrell were by far the best; more recent years have been less funny- some even downright painful! I think their most recent serious loss was Kristen Wigg- one of the best talents the show has seen since thos men I mentioned previously. All in all it is a great show that has survived this many seasons, they must be doing something right!
