::Without Saying a Word::

Legends of motion picture sometimes get looked over because its not the style of the present day. The silent theme of it have lost the foothold on movies. But if we look over these legends of the past, how would we know how we got to where we are today. If it wasn't for them we would not be where we are in the movie world. Actors have come a long way.

Charlie Chaplin, Florence Lawrence, Mary Pickford, Tom Mix and Rudolph Valentino have changed to Johnny Depp, Zoey Deschanel, Tom Cruise, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Many of these old characters have set the tone of acting.

Charlie Chaplin is the most common known for he set the stage with his character called "The Tramp". Instead of him being just an actor and everyone just tell him what to do but, he had enough power to write, direct, produce and even own the rights to the movie. He was the first international star and in 5 years he went from $150 a week to a million dollars per year.
(His first feature called, "The Kid")

He did all these things with out even saying a word. It was just him, his wit, and that nice mustache of his that made him so well known and popular.

  1. The Origin of film is so valuable. I fear that people one day will not look back or even care to see who the original legends were like Chaplin. The older I get the more I see people stereotyping these movies as old, therefore apparently they are not worth watching anymore. Charlie Chaplain is one of my faveorites. His movies "The Tramp" and "The Kid" are so simple yet you grow attached to these characters. And even though it may be silent, It has an amazing little story that captures the essence of that era.
