Until now movies have been in black and white and with no talking. After the huge leap to install both plug-ins the movie industry has been continuing to improve and becoming more and more popular. When all this new stuff were just coming out there were 3 main genres, musical, gangster, and horror.

The movie industry also came out with a double feature. What this means is that they would have a big name movie then a 'b-movie'. A 'b-movie' is a feature film with a lower budget and not as popular. They did this to get the audience to grow because they were now getting two movie for the price of one.
This also gave some stars a place to start and finish their acting career. Warner Baxter and Richard Dix finished off there career staring in 'b-movies'. Both of these men were Oscar Winners.

Hey Craig- I liked how you summed up a lot of what we have talked about this semester. So far, i've been really interested in the different genres and why they were so popular at that time. I think it's so cool that even today horror is such a big thing. Not just with films anymore, but also with television. And a lot of that is still geared towards the teenage group.
